Mini Golf Rules

Game Objective

The goal of mini golf is to get the ball into the hole using as few strokes as possible.

Stroke Order

  • Each player takes turns hitting the ball.
  • The player whose ball is farthest from the hole goes first.

Stroke Limit

  • Each hole has a maximum number of strokes allowed (usually 6–7).
  • If the ball is not holed within the allowed strokes, an additional penalty stroke is added to the total score.

Ball Position and Adjustment

  • If the ball rolls out of bounds, it is returned to the nearest playable spot with a penalty stroke.
  • If the ball stops near an obstacle and a stroke is not possible, it may be moved to the nearest free spot with minimal distance.

Overcoming Obstacles

  • The ball must be played through all designated paths and obstacles.
  • Skipping or incorrectly passing an obstacle may result in a penalty.

Scoring

  • Each hole has a set number of strokes (par) expected to complete it.
  • A player's final score is the total number of strokes across all holes.
  • The player with the lowest total score wins.

Game Etiquette

  • Players should follow general courtesy – wait for their turn and avoid disturbing others.
  • Do not stand directly in another player's shot path.
  • Honesty and respectful behavior are essential parts of mini golf.
